Short answer: a TikTok LIVE agency has an agreement with TikTok to support LIVE creators. TikTok calls this a Creator Network. A good agency helps you with your setup, planning, events, battles and the rules. It costs you nothing and takes nothing from your earnings: TikTok rewards the agency for the support it gives.

What does a LIVE agency do?

An agency supports creators who go LIVE on TikTok. What you can expect:

  • A dedicated manager who knows you, thinks along with you and is easy to reach.
  • Coaching on your streams: feedback on your setup, lighting, sound, interaction and planning.
  • Events and battles: taking part in TikTok campaigns and competitions with creators at your level.
  • Clear explanations of the rules, so you don't get violations that cost you your Gifts or your account.
  • Insight into your numbers: LIVE days, hours, viewers and Diamonds, so you can see what works.
  • Help with problems, such as a violation you want to appeal.

How does an agency make money?

TikTok pays agencies a fee for supporting creators. That fee is not taken from what you earn: TikTok pays your share of the Gifts directly to you. So an agency does well when you do well.

How do you join?

You join through TikTok itself. The agency sends you an invitation through TikTok's system and you accept it in the TikTok app. Often you sign up first through an official sign-up link from the agency, or through a form on its website. An agency gets no access to your account: no password, and it cannot post or change anything.

With one account, you can only be with one agency at a time.

Red flags when choosing

  • Promising a fixed amount or money back for joining. Promises like these are not allowed under TikTok's rules.
  • Asking for your password or asking to log in to your account.
  • Asking for money to join or for "access to LIVE".
  • Promising they can lift a ban or unlock LIVE. Only TikTok can do that.
  • Offering cheap Coins or Gifts through a back door. This is prohibited and can cost you your account.
  • No real people or address. A serious agency has a company, an address and a face.
  • Pressuring you to switch while you are still with another agency.

Questions to ask

  1. Who will be my manager and how do I reach them?
  2. What exactly will you do in the first month?
  3. How do you help with the rules and when I get a violation?
  4. What do we agree on, and how do I stop if I want to?
  5. Do you take anything from my earnings? (The answer should be "no".)

Do you need an agency?

No, you can also go LIVE and earn without an agency. An agency is mainly useful if you want to grow faster, know the rules well and have someone who keeps an eye on things and connects you with events, battles and brands.
